Bill Paxton - Dead at 61

Bill Paxton was never a huge star but he's done solid work for a lot of years. He died from "complications during surgery" according to family.

Yeah it was shocking news. Like you said never a huge star but I really enjoyed slot of his work, particularly the HBO series Big Love. He had a nice career and I'm sure he will be missed by his peers and of course his family.

So bummed when i read this the other day. I don't usually care "more" when an actor/actress passes, but this one did kind of hit me for whatever reason. Still my favorite roll he was in was Aliens.

Me too. I think it's because he wasn't considered to be a huge star but he seemed to be in everything that made home seem like a "regular guy", someone we could relate with.
