My first two drum education books were written by Hal Blaine. He was the one talent which inspired me to always work hard to be better than the day before.

Wait until the tributes start appearing and you discover he played on most of your favorite tunes from the 60s recorded in LA.
 
A drummer friend from High School mentioned his death on FB.

My Hal rest in peace!
