Home Theater Magazine to be Branded Sound & Vision

So, since I subscribe to both, will I get two S&V's?

And will the S&V forum double in size?

2x0=0

heh, heh ......

For sanitary reasons I've avoided bringing my laptop into the john, but my fibrous reading material is truly running out. I must either invest in plastic sheeting, or change my diet. :|

I read the news on my smart phone while sitting on the throne. As for the magazines, I haven't subscribed to either in years. My information needs are better served by forums and other online resources.

I gave up on Sound and Vision after they failed to address our website concerns and the ever shrinking magazine it was getting very very thin with very few articles that impressed me anymore but still subscribe to Home Theater but they too are also getting thinner and thinner but I still enjoy their reviews and testing results as compared to S&V whose reviews were mere 2-3 paragraphs with no testing results and the fact every review asked you to log on online to get the more in depth review. Fuck that I paid for a subscription I want the full review while sitting on the throne and not have to grab my tablet to finish a review I started in the magazine.

Mike Mettler really fucked up S&V but considering his main pervue was car audio reviews it didn't surprise me.

Re Mike Mettler:

What I liked: some incredibly insightful articles about / interviews with recording artists.

What I disliked: vinyl fanboy snake oil.

I ignored the latter and thoroughly enjoyed the former.

Back in maybe 2001, I subscribed to 4 different A/V magazines at the same time. As for HT and S&V? I dropped both magazines some years back---maybe 2, 3, or 4 years ago now?

Not that it matters because the state of magazines sucks so bad that I doubt I'd ever reconsider re-subscribing, but... I'm kind of glad they're going with the S&V name.

Meh. Maybe HTM will be able to fix the S&V forums or just create a whole new better forum. Who knows?

Even if it happens (doubtful), I don't think it will be enough to replace this great forum. We can swear on this site. No cuss filters here which is fucking awesome...

Edited For Content (sorry Zing)

^^^ See....look at that. I just Googled that shit and was able to post it here.
Able to, yes. Should have? Probably not. We have a NSFW section that is a much more appropriate place for such pictures. Just sayin'...

Tonight I sat out back and started reading my new Sound & Vision, the first "combined" issue.

First off, it had the "square", glued binding, indicating more pages. S&V had gone to the folded, stapled construction the last 5 or 6 issues (Home Theater had the glued binding all along, to the end). So that's a good sign, probably. The editor's page bragged about them getting the best talent from both rags; I'd have to peruse the latest of both former mags to see who got left out, and I'm frankly not that interested (I had subscribed to both).

I finally had to come in because of the mosquitoes (global warming has apparently brought mosquitoes to utard :angry-banghead: ) and I'll be listening to music or watching TV the rest of the night, I may post more about the S&V tomorrow.

Wow went to check out Eat My Ass oops S&V and clicked on topic and nothing but porn links on every topic. Sad it has come to that. I now know how the people of Detroit feel.

Excuse my PC ignorance, but how is that possible?? I can't believe that sight really says that.

On one note, it's funny as hell. On another, I hate that some potential old threads, that may still have some value, are now gone and replaced by porn.

If you look at top left corner of the image posted by Zing, it says, "Object not found". When I go on that forum, it redirects to whatever the current screen is.

I guess it's safe to say that the old forum is officially gone.
