Some people just like that other people think that they like weird things.
 
Like about a quarter of Monty Python skits and other great comics, this is an exercise in the theater of the absurd without a laugh track. It also has a not-so-subtle subtext of social commentary on how we interact with the internet. It is fascinating with a strong commitment to the keeping the illusion true.
 
Or, it is just plain goofy! Surely it is one or the other.

I think it is more a commentary on our society and our perpetual dumbing down, but its art so my interpretation and yours can absolutely be different.
