FYI, I tried the Susvara ($6000) flagship planar magnetic HP from HifiMan. In a back and forth listening session with the HiFiMan HE1000's V2 ($3,000). To tell the truth I couldn't hear much of a difference. Both are still better than HifiMan's electrostatic model which is too bright in high frequencies.
I also listened to a lot of a other headphones in the EarGear Expo, nothing exceptional except in general.
Excluding Mr. Speakers Voce, electrostatic which is the best HP I have ever heard bar none.

Opps, almost forgot to mention I picked up a sample from the nice people at Comply Foam. Premium Ear Phone Tips, these are made from memory foam. They are much more comfortable than my stock Shures, but have not tried silicone tips yet.
