Morel HÖGTALARE: A new idea for a mid-class bluetooth speaker

Designed specifically to fit into one of the cubes of those seemingly ubiquitous Ikea cube storage systems, this looks like a great way to get pretty darn good sound into a home relatively attractively. By using this format the speaker can be big enough to produce substantial bass from a proper 6" woofer. It still isn't true stereo high fidelity, but I imagine it would do an amazing job for most people just wanting to fill a room with clean, loud, dynamic music.

Not sure on the price, and I'd prefer two in stereo to one with stereo tweeters, but I am not their primary target audience. For a whole house audio system or to make one or two Alexa Echo Dot assistants to sound as good as possible, these would rock.

Isn’t IKEA working on a series of “party” oriented audio devices and speakers?

given the use of IKEA's name and product names on the promotional page, and given the name of this speaker, I would argue Ikea is somehow involved with this product.

Considering the Ikea market and how many of those shelving units they have sold, they should do well. A step above ear buds, convenient and space compatible. I would say not for the audio enthusiast, but for millennials and mid-fi. It fills a niche.

If there's anything Morel knows about speakers, it is how to make them sound very good. Every product they sell at a minimum sound good.
