Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds at ACL

Flint

Prodigal Son
Superstar
Monday evening I attended a concert by Noel Gallagher and his band, High Flying Birds, at the legendary Austin City Limits theater. I loved it! No warm up band, a clean rock show, and not too much talking between songs. I love these type of shows where the artist just plays the music and the audience just enjoys it.

That said, I am not a firm believer in bans on capturing photos and video. Whenever Noel would play an old Oasis song, about half of the people sitting in front of me would hold up their phones to capture the whole song on video. It was stupid, especially considering rest of the audience singing along, in many cases doing all the singing as Noel stepped away from the mic. If you're an Oasis super-fan, I would think you'd rather join in with your like-minded friends and sing along at the top of your lungs rather than miss the moment completely in order to capture the performance on your phone. It was distracting and extremely annoying.

I also saw that Baby Metal was coming to ACL, but I was too late to get good tickets. I won't stand for two hours while watching them, so I am not going.
