Round About Drums.............

Looks good to me, but what do I know about drumming. I do have a dumb questions however. How do folks strip out the original instrument (whatever it may be) so they can lay down their own track. What software is used to do that?

If they play a perfect copy of the original drums, they don't need to get a track without drums. They just make their drums 3dB louder and mask out the other part.

It isn't hard to isolate sounds in a recording. The vast majority of "isolated player" tracks on YouTube were made by isolating that person. I saw a demo by Sony using their editing software where a guy isolated a church bell in the audio from a film and then deleted it. It took seconds.

You can also find songs with drums, or and part, removed fairly easily online.
