If you havnt yet picked up the remastered version of 2112 get it. Needless to say it didn't turn into audiophile material but it's a massive improvement.

Is it 5.1? Bluray audio? etc. etc? What is different than the previous remasters?

I can only compare it to the original LP/CD release. Also I have no idea how long ago it was remastered. I just heard for the first time.

Hey many thanks Dent, I will definitely buy this. I remember buying the LP from the Base Exchange in Aviano Italy. I was really bummed about all the ticks and pop, in the quiet parts. This was on the first playing, even cleaning and zapping with it with my electrostatic guln. Waited years later for the CD to finally come out, liked it much better.

Remastered Dec. 2016, in a two CD set. The second disc contains covers by Alice In Chains and Steven Wilson. The previous CD was remaster was in 1997, their was also a Blu-ray version that gets mediocre scores compared to the CD versions.
