I have been watching the documentary by Ken burns and Lynn Novak (who hardly ever gets credit ) on the Vietnam war.

It was the defining event of my generation and I thought I knew most of the history about it but have learned a number of things with this documentary. Provides actual tape recordings of LBJ and McNamara admitting to each other as early as 64-65 that a war against North Vietnam and the Viet Cong was unwinnable and all the lying that was done to the American people about the war.

Some great first person interviews with both American and Vietnamese . It is available for streaming on the PBS streaming channel.

I might check it out, and not to minamize the Vietnam war, and I'm just old enough to know a few people who were in it, but I've watched a bunch of stuff on it. Ken Burns does a good job on stuff like this, so I'm sure it's at least entertaining.
