I haven't played the first XCOM; saw the second one on sale on Steam recently, decided to try it out. I'm a number of missions in, and I like it. Not sure I completely love it, but it's fun. Definitely more of a thinking game than action, as it's turn based strategy/tactics stuff. Pretty good story and cutscenes so far. And the lot and soldier promotions/progression keeps it interesting. I'm sure there's a lot of the mechanics I haven't really touched yet, as it's still early.
