Are any of you guys familiar with Zu Audio and Sean Casey the speaker designer? I don't know enough about speaker design to say weather he's way off base or he's on to something. Apparently he's a bit obsessed with efficiency in his designs. I never knew the efficiency played such roll in the overall sound of a speaker.

Good interview on YouTube with him and John Atkison from Stereophile mag.

Thanks for posting Zing, I can't do links from my phone.

Thanks to rammis and Flint. I had no intention of buying as other plans are in the works. I was intrigued because his approach seemed unorthodox. I lack the knowledge to really question his designs, but enough to think they may be suspect.

I have heard these a few times at the AXPONA shows, I was never allowed to play my music or did anyone else. So from what I remember, they didn't sound horrible but they definitely did not make me want to buy a pair. They have kind of a cult following of like minded individuals, I asked Sean Casey at a show what the Zu Audio sound was? He said it was "live music", which by their definition is high efficiency and tube amps. If I remember correctly, thanks to Zing for posting the video, which I will watch later today.

This review by no-audiophile, is on one of their ribbon tweeter speakers. Which I believe they marketed as their version of an audiophile speaker. But the ribbon is a one off design, but from the review you can still a good clue what their speakers are about. Also I believe at shows they play strictly vinyl.
