I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Your results are about what I would have assumed although I thought the surround backs would be more 'active' to compensate for the absence of rear height channels.
So then here is the 54-dollar question, if you had a 7.1 and could only add front height channels (no back height channels) would...
I agree which goes back to one of my original questions. Would the height and mains blend to the point where there is a 'matrixed' soundstage or would the height speakers be too localized and call attention to themselves in just a 7.1.2 set up?

I nurtured the seed you planted sir!
I had been knocking the idea of getting a new display for the basement for a while and it finally seemed as good of an idea now as any, so the wife suggested I call it my retirement gift. So I gave in to peer pressure and it resulted in a 77" LG C4 OLED. Thought it would be a good idea now to...
Cook's Illustrated is great!
This is funny to me cause I was just cleaning out a closet in my basement and came across a trove of old S&V mags. If anyone has a use for them you are welcome. (Near Mint condition :p)
