I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Kind of a cool song. A bit modern and a bit Seventies. I bet Bruno‘s meidas touch makes a huge star out of this new gal on the block… this… Lady who or whatever. She’s gonna be the next big thing! ;)
Update: So I’ve ordered a new receiver from Costco. Denon S760S for $380. Slightly older model with Atmos, but I think it’s got current HDCP for doing 4K/120Hz. Nothing great or high-end, but it’ll be better than the soundbar. Plus I can set the HDMI pass through to always default to the...
It’s about 9 inches from the door trim to the TV. Maybe a little less. I worry someone or something will bump into the left speaker. And I don’t think it’d look too good, IMO, to put mini monitors on stands so close to the TV. But I know you’re right. In an ideal world I’d have some more...
I was just looking at Rogersound Labs speakers. Boy are they ugly. But they’re super cheap at $105 and $149 each. And I think small and light enough to fit on the wall. Front ported is a plus. Keyhole mount for sure, but I think there is also a threaded insert. Not much bass and I question...
Those SuperSats would look good. The 3 and 3C are priced within reach, though admittedly a bit more than I’d really like to pay. But I’ll put these on the list of considerations. It’s too bad that door is in the way because it’d open up a lot more possibilities to get fuller sized speakers.
To replace the sound bar, I'd like to get some smaller satellites or bookshelf speakers. Something bigger than those Cambridge Audio Minx cube speakers you might've noticed sitting next to the cordless phone. The TV can't move at all.
For speakers my room size is 15x15. There's only 9...
So back in March I bought an 85-inch Sony TV. It's the Costco version of the X90L. Just regular LED but with local dimming and respectable HDR but nothing spectacular. That said... It has better screen uniformity and better everything compared to the Sony 70" Black Friday special I had...
I was gonna guess aliens. But still fascinating about the radar absorbing stuff ruining your OTA. That said…. My recommendation is to just pay for YTTV.
OR (but say it long and drawn out… like “oooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”)
You could do what I do and get addicted to watching Lauren Tewes on old...
People keep saying Jellyfish. Don’t know if I would’ve picked up on that one myself. But people probably ain’t wrong since one of the singers in Lemon Twigs definitely sings a bit like Robert Joseph Manning, Jr. Who in turn I think sometimes sounds a bit like Bruce Johnston from the Beach...
The Lemon Twigs.
They’ve got a handful of songs that I really like. (For now, at least.) I suspect that the novelty of playing retro music that’s heavy on homages might not—oh, how should I say?– keep them in my thoughts long term. No matter how well it’s played. But for now, in this...
I generally like Sonos, too. I’ve got a Sonos Beam (gen1) on a 50 inch Samsung. Quite happy with it for TV sound. Bought it from Sonos refurb store for $179, which was a lower than usual. It was like new.
Also have a stereo pair of Sonos Ones with the bigger Sonos subwoofer. I like that...
This is just hypothetical. Mostly. But I wonder what would be better in a small/mid room. The really old tiny Energy Take Classic 5.1 from years ago or the Sonos Arc soundbar with just the bar and no subwoofer or surrounds. (Or maybe soundbar and surrounds, but no sub.)
The Energy 5.1...
