What Are You Listening To?

@Botch check out the unexpected keyboard solo at the end of this one (around 5:20)... I'm fairly amazed he can play like that standing up.

There's also a part that's Perry's vocalizing up high (4:50), that I always thought was a synth. Wow.

The Dirty Loops, Coffee Break is Over:

Wish Jonah lived a little closer, I'd donate one of my old keyboard stands to him. :mocking:

A_Belle_Brigade_(album).jpg

New discovery for me, thanks to the Dead Wax ewetube channel. Incredibly dense and precise vocal harmonies, kind've a country-rock-CA sound. Turns out it's a brother-sister duo; having been raised in the Donnie-n-Marie era, that kinda raised the "ick" factor for me, but the music is very good.

This kinda follows the Jacob Collier arrangement, but the fact that they did it live blew me away.
And then the fact that it’s a high school chorus, well, what can you say?? I’ve watched this three times now and have teared up every time.

(I can’t use the “post video” on this forum lately, think it’s probably a MacOS 26 issue, hope you can get to that site)

Played this in Jr High jazz band, and drove my Dad crazy trying to learn it all on my Mom’s upright piano; I’m 65 now. This track still kills, what a fantastic recording!

RIP Greg Lake.
I just learned of his passing from a short clip on EweTube from his wife. Being we're in December, this is an appropriate song to post...

EDIT: I made a mistake; Mr. Lake passed in 2016. I don't know what I saw on YT that made me think otherwise...

Well, this is the first time I've heard the whole song!

And here's the lyrics so you can sing along!

Our whole universe was in a hot dense state
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started (wait)
The Earth began to cool
The autotrophs began to drool
Neanderthals developed tools
We built a wall (we built the pyramids)
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries
That all started with the big bang!
Bang!
Since the dawn of man is really not that long
As every galaxy was formed in less time than it takes to sing this song
A fraction of a second and the elements were made
The bipeds stood up straight
The dinosaurs all met their fate
They tried to leave but they were late
And they all died (they froze their asses off)
The oceans and Pangea
See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya
Set in motion by the same big bang!
It all started with the big bang!
It's expanding ever outward but one day
It will pause and start to go the other way
Collapsing ever inward, we won't be here, it won't be heard
Our best and brightest figure that it'll make an even bigger bang!
Australopithecus would really have been sick of us
Debating how we're here, they're catching deer (we're catching viruses)
Religion or astronomy, Descartes or Deuteronomy
It all started with the big bang!
Music and mythology, Einstein and astrology
It all started with the big bang!
It all started with the big bang!
