Possible Integra DHC 40.1 replacement

My Integra DHC 40.1 is no longer producing audio. I have read that it may in fact be the HDMI board? Either I have it repaired or I replace it with something else. I have a call out to someone locaI to see if and how much to repair. But for shits and giggles I have been looking at replacements. Prepros are way more money than I want to spend now. I have the amps, so all I am looking for is a receiver that has 7.1 preouts. I'm kind of up against a time crunch as I am hosting my family for Christmas next Saturday and half the 30 or so people go downstairs to watch sport on the PJ. Suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike
PS Kindly reminder, I am in Canada so all these great price you guys get south of the border don't usually translate up here.

With you being in the time crunch you are in I would look at the classifieds in your area. Might be dicey trying to get a new purchase reliably shipped to you if you order something online.

Can you connect the sound through analog to test if it is indeed the HDMI board?

I tried my Wiim that is connected via analog and still no sound. Tried FM/Tuner, no sound. Starting to think this is something worse.

When my Rotel died, I opted to go through the Denon route. Their receivers (4800 model and above) have the option to turn off the circuitry to the internal amps and ultimately fall into pre/pro mode. I have the Denon 6700 (previous model - manufactured in Japan) and has been fine. The selection of receivers and pre/pros is far less than it used to be - which makes sense as the surround sound craze has dwindled considerably in favor of convenience.

AVR's with 7.1 preouts are scarce as hen's teeth. My first two receivers were both Marantz which I was very pleased with. I saw the Marantz Cinema 70s can turn off circuitry and has enough preouts to fit the bill. Just kind of kills me to pay almost 2k CAD for a receiver..and I won't even be using the internal amps. As well, I am unclear as to how I would trigger my 4 amps??
I must admit I have been out of the loop for so long that I really am not up on all the latest and greatest!!

This does make me sad; I dearly love my 5.1 system, and both movies and concerts are generally sold in at least 5.1, but hardly any music is anymore. And you're right, most of the pre-pros/non-HT receivers now sold (Yamaha, NAD, etc) are strictly stereo (don't know if I've ever seen a 5.1 DAC...)
