Unrelated but related... going to check out this movie this weekend starring Sakura Ando who was great in her role as the neighbor in Godzilla Minus One. She just won the Japanese equivalent of Best Actress Oscar for her role in Monster.

Newest trailer shows a bunch more footage of other monsters. Wish they would focus on established critters/foes from decades of lore. Don't see the need to keep introducing new ones (Shimo, MUTO's, Skar King, etc.) at least not until they have properly payed homage to some of the greats...

Can't decide if I hate the idea of remaking this movie or not. Leaning towards hating it. Maybe as much as the pointless Oldboy remake. Some things should just be left alone.

Got tickets for opening night IMAX 2D showing of new Legendary Godzilla/Kong flick. Not sure if I am as excited about it as I might otherwise be after binge watching Toho's Minus One. Kinda half heartedly not so enthusiastic. The bar has been raised.

This is a big part of why I hung on to my physical media collection. Monetizing my each and every viewing with forced ads is just not something I am interested in. Life is too short.

Funny you should mention this we hit Barnes & Noble last weekend and I bought seven books... all ad free. I (also) have a hard time watching anything with ads.

Bump: Watched Dunkirk bluray last night with DTS-Master HD encoding and it had zero issues with rear channel distortion so I am thinking (and thankful) that this is probably a disc specific software issue and not anything wrong with my processor. But I will continue to be careful with SPL levels...
