Watched the new Indiana Jones movie this weekend. Pretty ho hum predictable and a LOT of (surprisingly poor) CGI. The opening scene on the train might as well have been Polar Express IMO. Story got a little more interesting towards the end but probably not worth paying Amazon on demand price...

Cool. Talent usually is (challenging to work with). My theory is if someone is gifted in one area they have to be lacking in another to compensate.

Yeah I enjoyed it a great deal as I have posted, but don't think I could sit through it again. Was a lot of work to watch in hindsight. Kinda exhausting. I'm really glad I saw it on the big screen though.

Made some great movies... Director William Friedkin passes away... IMDB credits... French Connection and Sorcerer for me were highlights. Really embodied the grittiness of 70's film making. And of course the Exorcist. And I always thought Bug was an under-appreciated/misunderstood little...

We enjoyed it. Slow burn for sure and we were hoping to see a little more of the back story and character development like you said. Spoiler alert:

Watched Don't Worry Darling this weekend. Enjoyed it. Kind of a darker Truman Show with a some little Matrix and/or Dark City elements thrown in. Made me want to rewatch The Signal which was a bit of a sleeper sci-fi IMO in this same alternate reality genre.

Very different subject matter so hard to compare directly. Both are excellent just hard for me to call one better then the other. Both are probably modern era standard setters for me in their respective genres. Maybe Oppenheimer more then Interstellar as far as standard setting goes. Can't...
