Watched Cocaine Bear yesterday. I was a little disappointed in that I was expecting it to have more laugh out loud type of moments. It was worth the view but I don’t see myself coming back to it.

Are you member at Costco or Sams? I know for sure Costco has the LGs and Sonys. Often they’ll run a promo for free 2 year warranty thru Allstate and additional years on the warranty on top of that if you use their Citi card.

There’s gonna be continuing restructuring at HBOD because Zaslav is trying to get the company out of financial free fall. They’re cancelling shows, licensing properties, selling tv series, etc….no one knows how things will shake out or when it will end. I’m sure it’s a rights issue on some...

Also, IMO sports that are played on a larger grass field like Soccer, Football, maybe baseball a little where fans and activity aren’t as likely to be onscreen masking the blur somewhat further highlight it. It’s like playing on a blank green canvas, making the blur more obvious.

It probably has to do with rights to the content more than anything. After contractual obligations expire they will most likely end up back on what ever form of HBO streaming exist….HBO Max, or HBODiscovery, etc

Lets not forget, live sports also highlight the shortcomings of the dominant TV technology with motion blur/ghosting. And even though a lot of current tvs are better there’s still a lot of TVs out there already in home that have older tech and aren’t 4K. I don’t think live sports is the ideal...

I also usually keep the sub gain around 50-60% on the subwoofer’s dial and fine tune through the receiver/processor.

For sure there’s a balance. Directors and producers have to acknowledge what makes stories and characters popular and stand the test of time and smart enough to give a fresh take. Honestly, if I’m not given something new, I consider it a waste of time more often than not.

I don’t know why people get so disappointed with adaptations and minor twists and changes. If you want a carbon copy of the original, watch, read, or play the original. I can appreciate some surprises as long as they’re done respectfully. Changes don‘t always work but a fresh take on any...

Did u like the movie? I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. I’m not a massive fan of the original, don’t love it or hate it.
