    Incredible Covers...

Actually not a cover; JD wrote this song! I did not know that.

    Speaker time

@Wardsweb, have you tried any of the "hard-wax oils" that are all the rage now? They don't leave a thick gloss, but the surfaces I've seen have been incredible, and it looks like a much easier finish process. (and that veneer you've used is stunning!!)

“Believe It or Not” - One of the worst music videos

Ellen Foley was mighty fine in her Meat Loaf days.

“Believe It or Not” - One of the worst music videos

Mirrors, tinfoil, Dippidee-Doo, stunning keyboard technique. And two irritating chicks.

Why most sports broadcasts are not in 4K

It has 4 HDMI Outs, I need to try one of the other outputs, and try the Oppo player direct to the TV, to find the other broken link. My 1979 Yamaha receiver still works fine; I'm not happy when something expensive won't last 13 years. :(

    What Are You Listening To?

Here Come Some More Mummies! I haven't seen this one before; once again on the Bob & Tom Show. So tight!

Why most sports broadcasts are not in 4K

This is getting even more interesting. During the SB I toggled between Standard, Cinema, Vivid, and iMax Enhanced picture qualities. Vivid was hideous, but the other three, were pretty much equivalent that I could see, could only see a slight shift in color between Standard and Cinema. I was...

What are you watching via streaming?

Okay, sorry about the dumb noob question. My new TV has "Google Assistant" built-in; I press a button on the remote and request a show/movie/channel, and it goes directly to it (or shows me options on how to view it). In honor of Ms Raquel Welch (RIP), I pressed the magic button™ and said, "Go...

EDIT: Bought 48” OLED TV; any “full motion” wall mount suggestions?

I have that Sanus, you can easily get 45˚ out of it; I can't any more as when my first TV was pro-installed, they trimmed the cables to be just long enough. My new TV has the inputs on the left side, and the cables themselves won't allow me to swing it that far anymore (fortunately I don't need...

Why most sports broadcasts are not in 4K

Found this very interesting, both the "behind the scenes" systems supporting something like the SuperBowl, and the massive bottlenecks involved.

What Concert Video are you listening to?

Dayam. This just popped up on my feed, an early concert by The Police at some engineering college in Scotland; very early, their first album had just come out. Video is poor, sound is poor, mix is pretty good, and the performance is FEROCIOUS!! Enjoy!

    TV repair?

Wow. PBS News ended, and the next show is something about tennis shoes, and both corners are perfect; its PBS' broadcast, not my TV! I did not expect that.

    TV repair?

It got better. This morning, every time I left the room, I swiveled the TV back down, and after 3 or 4 times it kept its location; don't know if taking the weight of the old TV off the springs gave them a "memory bounce" or what, but its held the downward tilt all day today, cross that one off...

    TV repair?

Sigh. Installation completed about 1 this afternoon. They got the new TV hooked up to my wifi easily, but no sound thru my AVR/speakers. We tried using the Roku (also hooked into my AVR) and the screen kept showing an alternating error code, he fiddled with it a bit and got it stabilized, the...

    TV repair?

So, I'm guessing "Smart TV" means there's a streaming thingie built-in? (the Sony's just switched to Google TV) I have a fairly recent Roku (which I think is 4K) cabled into my 13-yr-old Yammie AVR (which is not 4K), so I was toying with the idea of buying a new Apple iTV (4K) and patching it...

    STELLAR RECORDINGS

Three MORE years. I had about six different places to post this video, I put it here to call attention to one of the best "stellar recordings" I own, Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms". I'm lucky enough to have the 5.1 remix, I just need to find it and listen again. EweTube's Algorithm (all...

EDIT: Bought 48” OLED TV; any “full motion” wall mount suggestions?

Gotcha totally. I've been without any TV for almost 6 days now, and I'm still reading up and thinking and debating. Its almost kinda sad that there's a lifestyle shift without a TV, but that's made me think, too. If I end up having to watch the superbowl at a sport's bar, I'll make sure to...

    TV repair?

I am not, because I can get similar deals at the USAF Commissary, and I'm a lifetime member. BUT, I forgot the damn Commissary sells TVs. Thanks Chris, I have another place to visit!

    TV repair?

Thanks guys. Yeah, I did some reading up on reviews, and advice on Crutchfield's site, and apparently I got a lot more years out of the old girl than are expected. The LG C2 55" is $1,300, and the local bestbuy also has an "open-box" unit for $900. I want to do some further reading up on the...
