    Melody Valve Hi Fi CDP

While I am stuck at home, I did some work on this cd player today. This one is built like a tank. The face and top are machined from billet and very heavy. Got it up and going in a few hours.

    Wardsweb Systems Update

There are systems in the living room, dining room (no dining table), den and sun room. I have gear for three more systems. It is an obsession.

Cheapest Bang for Buck drop down (or whatever) projector screen.

I, too, use an Elite screen. Mine is a 106" manual pull down and has worked well for many years. They are $140 -$150 from Best Buy, Amazon and Office Depot.

    Audiophools abound

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink or in this case an "audiophile."

    Audiophools abound

Audio is truly an endeavor where ignorance is bliss. If you have never heard better, you can be happy with less. Education also pays a big part of knowing there is better, what constitutes better and how to go about getting there. Still each person must decide for themselves, how good is good...

    Wardsweb Systems Update

Esthetics are important to me. I love the pseudo art deco look of the horns.

    Wardsweb Systems Update

While I was at it, I added a Technics SL-1700 to the sun room. It was a freebie from a friend. It motivated me to fix the Vacuum Tube Audio PH16 phono pre, that has been sitting in a box for a couple years. It was given to me because it didn't work. It is a kit that wasn't put together very...

What are you watching via streaming?

Started watching the second season of Altered Carbon. Had to go back and watch season one again to retain enough background to understand watching season two.

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

I liked it but I don't know that it would appeal to a young crowd. It isn't an action or science fiction movie. Those are the wrapper around, what I would call a psychological drama. It could just be, it had me reflect on my relationship with my Dad.

RIP Lyle Mays - The Pat Metheny Group

Sad to hear of Lyle's passing. He was a great jazz pianist and composer. I have been listening to his music with Pat Metheny for 40 years.

What Concert Video are you listening to?

I'm glad you found this enjoyable. Melody Gardot is one of favorite female singers. Not just her vocals and influence of jazz but her spirit and will to overcome being run over and having to start from scratch. She doesn't wear sunglasses to be cool. She still has a sensitivity to light, after...

    Wardsweb Systems Update

Added an AppleTV and a small screen to stream in the dining room. I guess it isn't really a dining room anymore. It is just another 2-channel system listening area.

    Wardsweb Systems Update

Audio is a journey. It evolves over time. Here is my system that started out home stereo and turned into a home theater. The first picture is 2002. The last picture is 2020.

    Weekend Project - Nakamichi 700ZXE

There is a motor and belt that runs the capstan. There is another motor and belt that rotates a cam gear that lifts the heads/pinch rollers transport. The cam gear grease was sticky and the belt was drying out. These didn't allow the head to engage, so no music. It took several hours to take the...

    Weekend Project - Nakamichi 700ZXE

I fixed this cassette deck for a friend. It is a really great deck, but way over engineered and a PIA to work on.
