I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
This weekend I was able to listen to the system for long periods. I now no longer feel that they are bright sounding with some material. I don't know if it's because they are now "properly broken in" or if it's me getting used to their sound. All I got to say that these speakers are badass and...
Guys, this is my only system. With two little kids, I can't risk putting this stuff in our family room. Our basement isn't finished either and we don't have the funds right now to finish it so I chose the bedroom for my system.
Though, I wish this was my one of many systems like Matt's...
I bought a pair of Bowers & Wilkings steel speaker stands from Best Buy for a really good price. They are really nice.
Now if I can only find some me time to do some proper listening :angry-banghead:
The VS01C center and the elsberry pair of the VS05Bs are here. I have to say that the elsberry finish is so freaking beautiful. Maybe I should have ordered all of them in that finish. Also, the VS01C is pretty damn big and heavy. I am very impressed with the build quality of these speakers.
I...
I didn't get a chance to listen to them over the weekend because my in-laws and my parents came over for our daughter's birthday.
I am going to have more time for them this week. The center speaker and the other pair of VS05 are on vehicle for delivery. :banana-rock:
Heeman, make sure that the hex head screws in the back plate are tight. One of the guys from audioholics said that his were loose and he had to tighten them.
You are right about the brightness, it's going to take some time to get used to it. I think it's because the tweeter is crystal clear...
Oh I won't mind. At least all the front three that we will be looking at are the same finish.
Now I am hoping that they don't cancel the order because that would suck.
Wow, they are almost sold out of everything. Yesterday I placed an order for the center speaker and another pair of the bookshelves in maple finish, and today I received an email saying that the order for the maple bookshelves was cancelled because they were sold out. So I called them today and...
Heeman, did you go with maple or elsberry? I can't really tell from the pictures.
I am glad you like them too. They really do sound different from other speakers. I don't really know how to explain it.
Btw, wasn't Dennie getting his in today too?
After some more searching, I found that the engineers that designed the Alexxa and Vera speakers left the company when they were bought by Maxxsonics and production moved to Chine in 2005 or 2006. They started a new company named German Maestro. The mid line of their home audio speakers looks a...
Ok, here we go.
First, I am not one of those audiophiles who describe every little thing by using big words or phrases because frankly 90% of that kind of talk makes no sense to me. Plus I am not good at writing, so I am going to keep it short and simple.
The room I had them in is not ideal...
