Updating, not replacing, my older amp?

Russ you ever want to toss that ancient amp away. I'm one state away and I'll pay for shipping. :-)

    Is 4K worth it

Not sure about compression as each movie file is between 45GB and 55GB depending on the length of the movie and that's pretty much what a standard UHD movie has. The hard drive is a 1 TB hard drive and I'd say about 65% is filled up which coincides with the ten movies and 30 documentaries (some...

    Sub Rumble after turning on

Mine did that too and all it needed was a new fuse. Not sure if that's your case but mine was a simple 2.00 fix

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Pauly I never played the games but rather enjoyed the movie. As someone not familiar with the games I actually understood everything that was going on. It was an Saturday afternoon movie type film for me.

    HDR: Dolby Vision and HDR10+

I like how the article stated that it will also implement this in 2016 models via a firmware upgrade. Good news for me and my Samsung. I just wonder how much better it will be compared to just regular HDR but it will be nice to see once the upgrade comes out. Thanks for sharing.

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Babs I liked the first Jack Reacher but agree this was a 3 out of 5. Worth watching once but that was about it.

    Need some help

Here's what I did with my circular couch. I placed my surrounds on each end. One smack dab against the one end and the other against the wall on the other end. Both speakers are aimed towards each other but aimed in slightly towards the man captain chair (the one with the rear surrounds as my...

Where'd the receiver go? Ideal basic setup...

Herasey I say. When did my beloved group of audiophiles resort to saying preamps and receivers are no longer needed. Next Flint will be touting that the Bose 3-2-1 setup is by far the greatest thing ever made. For shame on you heathens for shame. Now excuse me while I dap my tears by...

    Is 4K worth it

I agree Flint with what HDR can do to a color gamut but when sitting back ten feet and not seeing a true difference between 1080p and 4K I don't think there is going to be a difference between 4K and 8k. I read a great analogy about pixels awhile back. Your on a beach and you look down and see...

    Is 4K worth it

But Flint the human eye can only handle so much resolution. Even experts say 4K is far too much for the human eye to distinguish. 8k and 16k is just overkill at this point.

    Is 4K worth it

I'm saying that from 3 feet away yes you can really tell a difference it is very noticeable but at 10 feet back it was harder to tell the difference. 4K is really sharp and clear but it's not that much better the further you move back. I'm sure on a bigger display or projection system then yes...

    Is 4K worth it

okay so a few months ago I bought a 65" Samsung UHD 4K set. I've really enjoyed the "up conversion" to simulated 4K on 1080p material like Bluray and Vudu HDX material. I've applied HDR Plus to this material as I have no media that takes advantage of true HDR like the new UHD bluray players...

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Randy my mother called and asked me to add Lion to our Vudu account (it's my account but she uses my login and password so it became our account) anyway she asked me to add that movie as she loved it. So like a good son I bought it just haven't seen it yet. But will.

    The Early Adopter Movie Dilemma

I just stopped buy discs altogether (it's been years now) HDX is good enough and when I can buy new movies for 6.99 no tax and share instantly with my whole family it's a no brainer. Flint your insane. I've seen HDR sources and non HDR sources on 4K displays and HDR sources are phenomenal...

    The Early Adopter Movie Dilemma

I've done a lot of research and even the experts say the only benefit of UHD is implementing HDR. Otherwise the human eye can't distinguish between 1080p and 4K when sitting further back than six feet (which almost everyone does). So for now I just buy all my digital codes in HDX and not worry...

Steven King's "It" - the first trailer

Jeff this not a shorter remake. This movie is part one (the children's story). Part two coming later is the adults story. If you ever read the book there was just so much they could never put into the TV mini series as the rating, language and sex scene couldn't be shown on a major network...

    Incredible Covers...

Mcad my mother used to babysit Linda Ronstadt and her sisters when they were little girls. What's funny is about twenty years ago my mother was at an event in Tucson and Linda hadn't been seen in a long while and had gained a lot of weight but my mom recognized her sitting by herself at the...
