When I was looking at amplifiers, I used Soundhound's description to help evaluate "what makes a good amplifier". One of the criteria was power supply. He suggested looking at amplifiers as ability to deliver constant voltage regardless of impedence as being important.
So, using Ohm's Law and...
Here. Start at page 16. Good read and explanations.

I don't have time to even go into the Digest mode now, but the above article really is informative.
Yup. Depending on your volume level, and distance/size of room, you should be fine. That amp is stable to less than 4 ohms (and I believe your speakers are actually 4ohm minimum.....at least the Contours are).
I use an amp rated at approx. 300 watt/ch in 4ohms and have never had an issue...
Perhaps there is an emotional state associated with certain songs from our past. Mean Streets.....maybe Heeman first heard this song on speakers, or a system, with the flying V frequency response...so to him, that's how this song is supposed to sound. But played through a system with a great...
I'm glad you're enjoying them Keith. Tour be honest, if I watched movies 90 percent of the time, I would choose more dynamic speakers. But what I think you'll find, is that these will sound better and better as you turn them up. Be careful with the volume. I can listen for hours and not...
True. But remember, he is going from MB Quartz (could be described as bright) to PSA (titanium compression horn) to the Dynaudio tweeter. Dynamics will be less than he's used to due to lower sensitivity (I don't recall his amp, but wonder if it's stable/solid at 4ohms ~85db/watt.
I went...
Awesome Heeman. Yes, give them a little time. Excitement is not the first word I would use to describe Dyn's sound. The initial "holy crap" moment doesn't happen. Give your ears time to adjust, then, you will hear awesome tonal balance while maintaining the true detail in each recording...
Me too. :happy-smileygiantred:
Had a listening session last night. I'm still amazed every time I listen. Sister in law wanted to hear them last night....and she was in awe of the imaging and how they don't sound loud. Over 90 dbs for most of the session.
