    Rick Beato's "40 best-sounding albums"

His song Black Cars was an anthem at most of the roller skating rinks I went to in the 80's. Never knew he was the same guy who sang those other songs until just a few years ago.

Best TV/Streaming series you can recommend to watch

Move Andor to the front, you'll thank me later. IMHO, probably the best Star Wars show on that's been on Disney+(although they should have included the droid from the film, instead they only teased us with another one.)

What are you watching via streaming?

Which is too bad. Guess it's better to take a big loss like that versus releasing a dud that might bring the DC universe down even farther.

    So I did a thing!

Here's a couple of links to articles talking about why there isn't more 4k content in sports. LINK! LINK2 As mentioned, cost is a major factor, but there are others as well, including covid and actually needing 16k cameras instead of 4k cameras.

Well when they canceled a finished, I believe, 90 million dollar movie, you know something is wrong there.

    So I did a thing!

Didn't realize it would open up such a discussion when I made that comment. I believe you guys, but also don't understand the difference between going from sd to hd is easier than hd to 4k. I would think the infrastructure would be even better for that move today.

What are you watching via streaming?

That might be some of it, but they have cleaned house in their streaming catalog, so I don't think it's all about rights. Stuff that was Warner Brothers property from years ago type of stuff.

What are you watching via streaming?

Wife and I have been streaming old episodes of Rules of Engagement, and that is show that could not be made today, even though it's only been off the air for 10 years. Hilarious at times, but hardly ever PC.

What are you watching via streaming?

I'm kind of surprised at some of the shows HBO has pulled from the schedule. You would think it wouldn't cost much just to keep them on the server, but if not many people are watching, I can see why they did it. Second season was just ok of Wolves, not sure I'd spend money to see it. First...

Best TV/Streaming series you can recommend to watch

Wife and I watched the first episode of White Lotus when it first came out, and need to get back and see the rest of it. Andor was awesome, and hopefully it leads to more shows that are more adult in nature.

    So I did a thing!

I get that, but the same limitations were in place when live formats started going from SD to HD. I'm sure they'll eventually get there, and honestly, I don't even watch that many sports. I'm just surprised it was more Netflix that drove 4k adoption than anything, and I only say Netflix...

Changed speaker heights now sub isn't playing as before

I always have to watch anything on Disney+ on slightly higher volumes than I do anything else, although I don't really notice an issue with the bass on stuff I watch. Good luck on the new receiver when you get it. So glad I upgraded, if nothing else for the 4K passthrough.

    So I did a thing!

Thanks! I really have enjoyed this set. One thing I have noticed about this set, like the video of the short throw projector that Botch posted, I can have the overhead light on in the living room, and hardly lose any contrast. I've always thought the screen looked so dull when the tv is off...

Changed speaker heights now sub isn't playing as before

Are you saying it's playing -12db softer? or louder? Like you said, it's all relative and when you adjust speaker levels, it affects the setting at which you would listen at. So if out of the box every speaker level is at zero, and volume range is -60 to +20, if you raise any speaker above...

Changed speaker heights now sub isn't playing as before

Here's a video of the guy that started Audioholics explaining how to setup your speaker levels using a spl meter. I didn't watch the video, but I assume he'll talk sub volume as well.

Changed speaker heights now sub isn't playing as before

50% on the subwoofer dial. Depending on your other speakers, that still maybe too loud or soft, and you may need to adjust accordingly. Personally, I would get all the speakers levels close, including sub, rerun ypao, and then double check levels again to make sure ypao didn't make any...

Changed speaker heights now sub isn't playing as before

Yes, still should be the same spl as the speakers. You may have to turn it up or down manually to be able to adjust them all accordingly, that's why I say start at the 50% mark.

Changed speaker heights now sub isn't playing as before

Should be a setting on the Yamaha that outputs test tones for all the speakers, including the sub. I'd probably start at 50% volume on the sub and work from there. You will have to run ypao after, but it should be more accurate. You may have to increase or decrease the volume knob on the sub...

Good! Next thing would be checking the crossover, as well as manually checking speaker levels if you have a meter.
