^ The former member whose p!ss is highly prized contact enhancer for electronics, wrote a primer on reference SPL for home theater (too bad the S&V forum is gone). In commercial theaters it's 85db. For home, it's 75db (because of smaller size room). Here's a link on calibration -->...

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

The Lego Movie This is a PG animation that adults can also enjoy. Very entertaining. The pace is really fast and often the actions are easy to miss. It's got good plot and the message. The twist towards the end was a pleasant surprise. Nice audio especially the surround sound during...

    Amp -- what's it take

My Behringer experience was 1 for 3. I bought 2 active x-over and 1 Eq. 1 x-over started to malfunction 4 months later and the other x-over in about a year. Eq worked but I sold it to someone a few months after the purchase so I didn't get to use it for long. Having said that, one of the...

    The Power of Music

One of the list says, "It helps runners and bikers" which is good but it can possibly create a negative side effect if using head / ear phones. It blocks out the sound of runner's and biker's surrounds thus creates physically very dangerous situation. People walking / running / biking among...

    Emotiva?

^ Then shouldn't it say "Made in USA" at the back of the amps? Or at least say "Made in USA and China"? I think that would be a better marketing tactic. :confusion-shrug:

    Emotiva?

Nowadays, solid state amps sound really good even at lower price. Some audiophiles spend extra for "bling" factor or bragging rights, not the sonic quality (even though they think it is, i.e. placebo effect).

    Emotiva?

^ Those professional (get paid for their work) reviewers are not to be taken seriously. Their income depends on what they say about the product. If they get too honest about what they review, their workload will shrink and so will their income. Try this site for amps...
