I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
I'll admit, I did not read the article. But...
The notion of "hi-fi" as being true to the original has always bugged me. The question I have is: True to the original what? What the singer heard on stage? What the drummer hears on stage? What some in row 2 seat 13 heard? What the recording...
Well, the show was alright. The guy actually lectured the audience a bit about audio and how to listen to the spatial elements of sound. He even explained why he could have just one subwoofer, but wanted to use eight speakers for the mids and highs. He also went on a bot about why he wanted...
I have learned that local bands can be plenty good (of course not all of them). I wouldn't mind hearing about the bands people think are local gems.
Just because a band is well known doesn't mean they're any good. And just because a band is known only locally doesn't mean they're no good.
I thought it was kind of weird that we have never had a thread for live show reports. So here it is.
Right now, I am waiting to go see Nathaniel Bartlett. He's playing for free (I'm sure that our tax dollars are paying this) just down the street at the University of Kentucky. What grabbed my...
I am not all that experienced with the music of Mike Patton, but I think I've heard enough to know that if the Faith No More is too much to the weird side for you, then Mr. Bungle most definitely will be. But Mr. Bungle might not be as heavy??? Any other opinions about this would be welcomed.
You might as well listen to this song as you read:

I got the urge to listen to Matt Duncan this morning. I think this guy makes the kind of music that everyone will like. Listen to it once, you think: that's pretty good. Spin it again...
When I got my headphone amp (whatever it was, I can't remember anymore), it had some parts loose. In fact, I never did open it up to secure them, so they are still loose.
My point in posting this is to add fuel to the fire behind this question: WTF is up with all these headphone amps arriving...
It might be important to note that I have Klipsch Heresy speakers, which I have extremely toed-in. Perhaps this toe-in directs more sound waves towards the TV than a lesser toe-in or a different speaker would. Just wondering out loud here.
I place two 4 inch panels, for a total of 8 inches, in front of my TV. My unscientific listening tests tell me that I get better imaging and a smoothing of the high freqs when I do this , as compared to having one four inch panel up against the front fall, behind and to the inside of each...
I have a pair of the Klipsch Heresy, and they are really toed-in. I mean they are almost pointed right at each other. I think they sound best this way.
Given how much I like my Heresies, I'd like to try the more expensive Klipsch speakers. But, if money were no object, I'd like to try a bunch of different speakers.
Yeah, I agree with that. But what is is exactly that makes something jazz, I 'm still not sure about. Tatsuya's Abiogenesis is not jazz (in my almost totally uninformed opinion). But I don't think there's any other place to post about it. Maybe we need an "experimental" or "soundscape" section.
You can't send it back until you have tried at least 5 different tube combinations. I think you agreed to that when you clicked the check mark on the buyer's agreement.
