There is a motor and belt that runs the capstan. There is another motor and belt that rotates a cam gear that lifts the heads/pinch rollers transport. The cam gear grease was sticky and the belt was drying out. These didn't allow the head to engage, so no music. It took several hours to take the...
Today's project was replacing the fans in the NU6000 amp and painting it black. The fan noise went from 45dB to 15dB. It is quiet now and blends better with the other gear in the home theater.
I love the A-10. It's a bad boy that kicks butt. My favorite is the F4 Phantom. The muscle car of the sky. It proves if you put big enough engines on a brick, it will fly.
Rose and I have started the 1st season of the original Star Trek. I think there are 23 episodes in the first season. I loved it as a child. Now it brings back memories and laughs for being campy and cheesy. Still love it.
The projector isn't very apparent in the picture above. I use a motorized linear actuator to drop the projector down two feet from the ceiling, when watching a movie, so the projection clears the 72" ceiling fan. The projector goes up to the ceiling, when not in use.
Here is what the system looks like when watching a movie on the drop down screen. This really shows the point of the gear being a tool and not the focus. You watch a movie. You listen to music. If you watch the gear, you're doing it wrong.
