I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Yeah, I've been using the free version for a few months. I think it's pretty amazing, for what it is. To DIYer's point, I do wish that there was a screen capture option. Oh, and a gain control too.
Word.
Not even on a tablet. I'm not trying to be a snob or a purist. But I would much rather spend two hours listening to music and "work the google on the internet machine". I understand that my opinion is not universally mutual... just sayin'. At Christmas, I actually decided to rip all...
I've seen some graphs that show the results of what you are contemplating, on sites that compare corner traps to corner wedges. I am amazed at how effective the trap you are contemplating is. It works quite well... until you get down below 125Hz. Even 6" fiberglass fails to make a big...
This reminds me of how companies like Monster make their fortune. They make a tiny measureable difference in a cable's performance, which probably cannot be heard, and sell it by saying it makes a huge difference. I know that Flint was not taking that approach, it just made me think of it.

Behr paint has a cool one that you can upload pictures of your room, and try out paint colors on it.
I turn the lights off when I use my projector, so gloss tends to have more of an impact on me than color does. Not to say that a 109" screen doesn't illuminate the whole room anyway, but I'm really not watching the walls. In fact, I was watching The Social Network two nights ago (awesome movie...
All three of those subs are hot items, these days. But the SVS has the least down-side to it... to me anyway. Yes, it's huge. But you have the room for it. The Hsu measures less than exceptional, once you get near 20Hz (from what I've read at audioholics and others). And a lot of movie...
It's true. Better speakers and more subs are useless without things like stars, popcorn machines and consession stands. Get your priorities straight, will ya? :angry-tappingfoot:
Welcome back! A PEQ is very useful indeed. I also like the idea of treating first. It addresses the issues at every listening position more effectively than filtering.
What about the "white van" diagram? You know... where there is no crossover, just all drivers connected to the input terminal! :scared-eek:
Thanks again Flint.
You may find (like a lot of us here) that Audyssey is helpful, but not quite right. I get consistant results with it. But I end up tweaking it pretty heavily once measured with something as basic as the RS meter. In fact, I don't even bother using Audyssey anymore. SH's DIY calibration mic...
Is it funny that no one has said SVS, after all the love they got? :eusa-whistle: I don't know if my recommendations are "Top 10" material. But for the money, I like Linn, Vandersteen and Vienna Acoustics. I have been very pleased with anything played on those.
