I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Thanks, all - really looking forward to trying them out.
Going to go ampless for awhile and see how they do.
Never owned a tube anything (other than a sock. And an inner.). A whole new world to explore maybe one day. Valhalla seems a reasonable first stop. I've read nothing bad about the Wa2.
Having trouble pulling trigger on a new one so I sent an email to the guy on head fi who has the listing that's linked in the this thread. Nervous about buying used. In one of the pics that shows the inside of the ear cup, there looks to be some exposed wiring in the bottom corner. Is that...
Thanks, Rope. Schiit seems to be a common answer for amps. That one looks it could do the job if I ever decide to go that way. There's a guy on head fi who has a Lyr 2 for sale. I guess that's a hybrid approach. Think that would match well with the T1s?
Deacon looks like he has/had the T1s...
Interesting - you would think it would be pretty straightforward. If and when I get into amps, I will reach out for sure because I'm a babe in the woods there in terms of what could be needed depending on the source. But first, and maybe only, the headphones.
Meant to post a couple of pics...
Thank you - good points.
I think I'm going to try open-backed this time. I will use these at my home office and no one is really around me to complain about noise. The T1s look great.
LCD-X? T1? You got me creepin' up my budget! :music-listening: So those are pretty awesome HPs. However, pretty much everything I read says you must have a dedicated amp for these upper end headphones. Will they sound good being driven by nothing more than an iPod or straight into a MacBook...
Thanks, Flint - didn't know that. I'd much rather go that route!
Any thoughts on headphones to spend that extra money on? You're the one who got me into Dynaudio so I can partly blame you on my tastes in speakers/sound. :)
Going down the rabbit hole of HPs and DAC/amps. Have an old MacBook Pro I might try and use as a source and hook up to a DAC and amp. Looking at the Bifrost and Asgard 2 combo. I also have a 120 GB old iPod with lossless music on it that will work well.
For headphones still looking at the...
Dude - really appreciate the effort. Very nice of you - thank you! :handgestures-thumbup:
I think I'm going to try the Shure SRH 1540. Seems they are pretty easy to drive and have good feedback.
