I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Watched this today in between doing school work. Yep, back in school at 53. Anyway, great documentary although it only covered the beginnings and their heyday. I was interested in learning why Steve left the band and how he came back. I also wanted to know what the band is up to today. The real...
Oddly enough, I found Peter Gabriel's double CD "Scratch My Back and I'll Scratch Yours" at Best Buy. Strange, since Best Buy's selection gets smaller and crappier by the minute. Every now and then I'll find a gem. Found Rush's Moving Pictures DVD-A here in Jacksonville as well as Primus'...
Hey. You can find them for order on Elusive Disc (http://www.elusivedisc.com). They have a large list of Blue Ray Pure Audio titles, many classical. Just look in the DVD-Audio and Blu Ray Audio section on the site.
Yes! I saw them in 1981 on the Fire of Unknown Origin Tour and back in 1978 in the Superdome in New Orleans for the Day of Rock and Roll. I plan on purchasing this set at some point. I have the first album, Some Enchanted Evening, Fire of Unknown Origin and Extraterrestrial Live all on vinyl...
Heeman, that Tubes album brings me back to the summer of 1981. I remember purchasing that album and Foreigner's 4 album at the same time. i've just about worn those copies out. Don't know why that particular Tubes album was not a bigger hit. I remember the band appearing on Second City TV...
Still listening to the King Crimson. Only really listened to the DVD-A 5.1 mix. The disc contains several different mixes and alternate takes as well as a short B&W clip of the band performing 21st Century Schizoid Band at Hyde Park.
Ordered this today from Amazon. CD+DVD-Audio. I don't already own this album. Debated buying Discipline in the same format but already own it in vinyl.
Did some research Botch. MLP is Merdian Lossless Packing or PPCM, the standard for DVD--Audio. According to Wikipedia, all DVD-Audio players have an MLP decoder. MLP was developed by Meridien Audio, the high-end audio manufacturer.
I still have a portable MiniDisc recorder and some blank MiniDiscs, as well as some I recorded. The portable ones were never easy to fiddle with. CD-Rs and USB drives spelled its demise.
My wife got this through Netflix. I thoroughly enjoyed this film! All-star cast - Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Bob Balaban, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel. The ones who stole the movie were the two main characters - and I can't remember their names.
Fell in love with the Flaming Lips again with this release. I think I bought it back in 2004. The album has special meaning to me. "Do You Realize" was the song my wife and I danced to at our wedding reception. This release also includes extra tracks and all the videos from the album.
I'm loving the Dire Straits, Elton John and Beatles discs. I really like the lesser known songs on the Dire Straits SACD like Ride Across the River. The Elton John SACD is the 2 disc version, no third disc. The Beatles Love disc is spectacular in surround.
And thanks for the info about AIX. I'll give them a listen. I remember the Mobile Fidelity discs I used to see them in local audio shops. Alas, stand-alone audio stores are few and far between. Never bought any of the Mobile Fidelity discs because I had a cheap crap all-in-one stereo.
