I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
LOL I did some Google searching on the subject of DTS Master HD audio distortion and this post came up on the first page. But as it turns out there are a lot of reports of similar issues of clipping sounds and distortion under various circumstances and combination of equipment when playing this...
Bump... (and sad/nostalgic to read a post above with Barney mentioned he was such a great contributor and great company across multiple forums over the years).
(I guess this is the opposite of good demo material)
I played a bluray disc of one of the Underworld movies with Kate Beckinsale. I...
Took my parents to see Godzilla Minus One early morning showing New Years Day they wanted to see it (my 4th theatrical viewing). Interesting generational observation my father made was that that everyone in the movie was very well dressed (men wearing ties in the street scenes, etc.) something...
Rewatched 1917 my girlfriend had not seen it. Amazing looking movie her reaction was if it was possible for a war movie to be beautifully filmed this was the one. I love the editing style where the whole movie feels like one uninterrupted camera shot... feels very engaging. Also reminded me that...
Watched The Creator didn't realize it was a Gareth Edwards movie. Seemed almost like a compilation of AI sci-fi elements from various books and movies over the years and not particularly new or original. But it was very well done and looked/sounded great in the home theater. Streamed it so not...
Agreed I am also losing interest. It's just not a good series which is a shame because the production value is clearly there. The "story" feels almost like a randomly thrown together series of events or pile of references to random Godzilla lore (some old but mostly new Legendary era and all...
FYI the DBOX tickets were more expensive @ $25 per seat. So not something I think that will catch on anytime soon. I'd do it again for a special occasion (as in literally any Godzilla movie LOL) but probably not otherwise.
Agreed it would just be silly if it wasn't programmed purposefully to sync with the content. I was fully expecting to hate it but was happy to find (at least with this film) that is was executed nicely.
I think it would come down to whether there was enough source material with DBOX engineered/compatible soundtracks. Because if the seats just acted like LFE equipped recliners on regularly encoded 5.1 source material I wouldn't be too interested. But the scripted/sync'd movement part was pretty...
DBOX seats were a pleasant surprise and a much more enjoyable experience then I expected. Didn't realize how much effort went into adapting the soundtrack to the movement of these chairs and how varied and specific the physical effects were. It was definitely not just the random rumbles and...
Third viewing tonight of Minus One going because I'm a glutton for Godzilla but also to check out the newly updated local theater with DBOX seats. Should be properly bouncy good time.
