What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Finally saw Justice League last night... it was better than i was expecting. It's not great and not as good as the Marvel stuff IMO, but still worth a watch.

My name is Flint and I am a reality TV addict.

I just don't know what to say... just know that I'll be here for you when you're ready.

Ruminations on a DIY Powered Desktop Speaker System

I still have to pull the trigger... too much of an accountant -- research, cost benefit analysis, time constraints and other stoopid stuff. I'm likely to do it soon though. The aesthetics are a big thing since it's going to be so prominent. I like what Flint is doing with his woofer boxes -- i...

What happens when Flint makes a Line Array?

I have to look up how you stained those things... so much better than my fire hydrant red that i did with my line array.

Ruminations on a DIY Powered Desktop Speaker System

ok, still got this one in my brain. I have a small Dayton Amp already that will drive the speakers, so that's one issue i can check off. I also planned to just run the wire directly through the enclosure and caulk the inside to keep it airtight. I think i even have some acoustastuff from a...

    Turntable for OLD records

Well, i finally got the last of the "stuff". It's a lot.. one of the things i've notices is i'm going to need a lot of sleeves for the records themselves. Probably a dumm (sic) question, but does it matter what kind of sleeve to use? i.e., is plastic just as good as paper? I'm still working out...

I just love these guys.. been awhile since I listened to them and can't understand why it took so long.

What happens when Flint makes a Line Array?

I have two questions -- now that you've been playing around with this project, would you ever consider: Going with a Line Array in your main (or other permanent) rig? Going with an Open Baffle in your main (or other permanent) rig I'm sure there will be follow up Q's, but I was curious.

What happens when Flint makes a Line Array?

For something like this, are you looking for a tweeter that has an f3 of 2000 or lower? and would they be aligned to the left/right or inbetween like you currently have?

    What Are You Listening To?

Or more precisely, I'm listening to everything on Amazon Music from K.Flay -- Blood in the Cut and Wishing it Was You are the standout tracks for me. And not for everyone -- which is part of the reason why I like it I'm sure.

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Microwaved a bag of popcorn and finally saw Blade Runner 2049 last night. Did I like it? I'm still processing... which probably means that it's a good movie even if I didn't like it. I do think it captured most of the tone of the original, although, I agree with some that said it wasn't quite...

    Turntable for OLD records

Backed off that idea... i think i can go with the Teac ($125) and buy a 78 stylus (which is $48). Seemed like the best option. Preamp included, in the one review i saw it was supposed to sound decent, was relatively simple to use, liked the looks and was not super expensive (to me). It wasn't...

    Turntable for OLD records

Sorry, i missed this.. i just grabbed the first handful books i could. Some are a collective set in a "Book" and some were just a few records in the non-set book. Anyway, here are a few: Brahms Symphony No. 1, in C Minor, OP. 68 (Red Seal Deluxe - Book)/Leopold Stokowski and the Hollywood Bowl...

    Turntable for OLD records

That's actually a great idea -- i've seen some of those and didn't even think to try and match them up to what i is in my uncle's library. I may still get the either the archivette or the phonolink -- they're not terrible expensive ($100 and $150) and should be "good enough". I'll be looking to...
