I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
I have well over 5000 movies on disc (DVD & BluRay) honestly I have lost count. And that's not counting laser discs which (while nostalgic and a hefty investment back in the day) will probably never get watched again. So they just sit in storage maybe someday I will take them target shooting. Or...
This is a big part of why I hung on to my physical media collection. Monetizing my each and every viewing with forced ads is just not something I am interested in. Life is too short.
Funny you should mention this we hit Barnes & Noble last weekend and I bought seven books... all ad free. I (also) have a hard time watching anything with ads.
Finished season four of True Detective with Jodi Foster. Liked it much better than previous season three… it was mercifully shorter and while still a somewhat slow burn… far more compelling IMO and moved along at a much more tolerable pace. When it ended I was then compelled to rewatch Wind...
When my trusty Panasonic plasma finally dies someday (hopefully not anytime soon) I have a 92" fixed screen with a nice frame in storage and will make the move to a front projector. So it will be a big size upgrade for me the plasma is only a 60". It's a dedicated movie room we don't watch much...
Mild Spoiler Alert nothing major just mentioning a particular scene...
Watched Minus One/Minus Color in an XD theater with my son... my second viewing Minus Color. Was initially disappointed with quality of black and white transfer upon first/previous viewing in smaller local theater. But glad...
Bump: Watched Dunkirk bluray last night with DTS-Master HD encoding and it had zero issues with rear channel distortion so I am thinking (and thankful) that this is probably a disc specific software issue and not anything wrong with my processor. But I will continue to be careful with SPL levels...
Jomari... have you watched Season Three? If yes then read on I have some confusion about the ending and maybe some issues with some of the reviews and complaints that I believe may have gotten it wrong.
Seems like late 2024 is the word although no official release date yet. Maybe the will get it out sooner to capitalize on the buzz around the theatrical release.
US limited release date for Godzilla Minus One, Minus Color is Friday, January 26th looks like it will only run for one week in theaters. Scored dead center tickets for Friday opening night and again the following Tuesday night so I can take my son. That will make a total of six theatrical...
Not really. I mean good performances all around and I am usually fine with slow grind crime dramas... for example Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure (1997) or for that matter previous seasons of True Detective. But I felt like Season Three was unnecessarily drawn out and disjointed.
Fair warning this link is full of spoilers but for anyone who has finished Season Three of True Detective this may prove helpful in streamlining the otherwise occasionally hard to follow timeline jumps.
Season Three Timeline Breakdown
Watched the latest Exorcist release on Amazon on-demand this weekend it was pretty meh. Wasn't expecting Friedkin level horror but even so it was pretty predictable and didn't bring anything new or interesting to the table. Just a gratuitous sequel IMO.
