Now an interesting question, back in the day Flint used some heavy felt to remove some of the cabinet reflections. The larger face of the baffle, would some Felt help to reduce some undesirable effects? Oh and yes, Nice job, You suck.
Acoustic treatment for the speaker near the wall to help center the imaging. This will reduce the 1st point reflections. The speaker with no wall will not have the 1st reflections matching. So this will be a big help on your sound and room. Next would be the bass trap.
I have looked a little for cleaning supplies like the Discwasher brushes and have not seen any. Guess is that todays market has not found this yet. Climate control and proper storage also help. Just like storage of the Tapes. So the old 3 3/4 master cassette recordings are in the process...

With the VHS HiFi it was on the helical scan part and not the stereo two track in the linear. Most were on the tape so you could play back on other machines that only had the mono or stereo linear tracks. the linear tracks were lower than a cassette deck for sound quality.
