I choose to decouple the sub in the great room because the bedroom is on the other side of the wall. I decouple the bedroom also.

    Audiophiles Annoy Me

With color issues in my eyes 1080 on 50 inch is not showing the artifacts. My eyes may not detect them as easily as other people will. Partially color bling on the red green. As many as 8 percent of men and 0.5 percent of women with Northern European ancestry have the common form of red-green...

One other thing you could explore is using a computer with screensaver or such, Project pleasing photos on the screen and let it scroll through the images until you turn it off again. Sun sets, Autumn Trees, and such. If I make a trip into WI, I will bring my mic and measuring tools on...

Another shot across the bough --- the end of Austin as we knew it

The politics of the neighbors is one of the reasons we purchased a 3 acre lot when building the house. This coming season we have an old high school band pulling it back together in their 50's. Kids out of the house and they have time to have fun again. So the outside system will be their FOH...

    Outside system.

Added a Crown XLS1500 amp to run the horns. 300 a side. Amp rack is now two channel, Tri-amp. 300 for the horns 440 for the mids, and 440 or 700 for the subs. The Behringer x32 rack has an added s16 to make the mixer 32 channels input.

The musical Drum Solo - Joe Morello

Of course Flint will agree that because you have the extra drums does not mean that they have to be hit. It is more important that the sound fits the song and style. The next song he will hit the drum he did not use on the last song and that drum he hit last song is now hit free. Same is...

    SVS SB12-NSD is on sale

It will depend on the used component. I replaced the drivers in my TL15-1 EV bass bins with JBL 2226 drivers. The TL15-1 is a 4.9 cft cabinet and is ported for 50 hz. So will there be an improvement ? no, will not go lower, but the original EV drivers were bottoming out with 400 watts and...

IEM soundstage and imaging ever a question?

True to the above about enjoying the music. I will agree for the most part with Flint on the image. Headphones can leavy the image as positions between the ears unless they have been using some processing. We use the acoustics of the room and treatments to help the speakers to make the...

    The Davialet 4,600-watt speaker

Along with the problem of 2400 watts but electricians and inspectors only want 1600 to be used and leaving the 20 percent for peaks.
