Looking for some general comments from experience with in-ceiling speakers

Those look nice and should move enough air to give you at least a little bit of bass. There is no reason to go super nuts with ceiling or in-wall speakers, as they are so limited by where they are and how they work (wall resonance and such). Those look like they are somewhere in the sweet spot.

Looking for some general comments from experience with in-ceiling speakers

I'd put them in the kitchen so you don't have to blast the music in the family room to hear it.

Poker Table!...not really audio related...but it was a fun DIY project that I'm proud of

Material costs are completely out of control. I've been paying $8.88 for 2x6x8 fir. Even sheathing-grade plywood has been running $40-50/sheet. Cabinet grade maple and such are running $80-100. Baltic Birch is over $100 if you can even find it. Prices almost doubled for basic dimensional lumber...

Poker Table!...not really audio related...but it was a fun DIY project that I'm proud of

I never realized until I got into this stuff how often it is cheaper to buy than build.

That was a great idea and I'm sure it saved you a ton of time and a bit of money.

    What Are You Listening To?

I have been listening to a LOT of Steely Dan recently.

The old is becoming new again!

I'm moving away from AVRs for anything but my home theater in favor of some of the really nice two-channel gear from upstarts like Fosi Audio. I am actually a bit peeved with my AVR at the moment, because my pre-outs died off one at a time until I had to plug all my speakers directly into the...

Time for a new Portable Digital Audio Player

That thing looks super slick. I love the dedicated transport buttons down the side.

Nice to see something new from them. I know he's been very busy with running Patreon.

    ATI closed down?

With excellent amps like the Fosi V3 costing as little as they do, I see very little incentive to buy Class A/B amps anymore. I think a lot of the legacy manufacturers are going to be screwed if they can't adapt to a world where you can toss a WiiM Ultra in front of a pair of V3 monoblocks or...

    Blocking ads on EweTube

Not that this in any way alters your point, but YouTube is Google, not Amazon. I personally pay the pound of flesh for Premium. We watch a lot of YouTube and mostly watch it on television via Roku, Android TV, or Fire TV. That makes using things like ad blockers impractical for us. It is not...

    Retirement splurge!

Nice way to celebrate. I'm not sure what makes you suck more, retiring or getting that killer display.

All About Isolation Feet! (Warning: This may make you dumber)

Well, obviously. That goes without saying. What do you think I am, some kind of savage?

    Arylic B50 Integrated Amp

I've been so slammed that it is still sitting in its box on my desk. The last month has REALLY sucked. My mother-in-law died after a 2.5 year battle with cancer. It was really hard on everyone involved in the weeks leading up to her passing and my wife is still struggling. Sondi lived near...

All About Isolation Feet! (Warning: This may make you dumber)

I put some on my table saw and you would not believe how much smoother the cuts are. It is amazing. I put some under the dishwasher too and my plates have never been cleaner. I did find putting them under the bed to be a little counter-productive though.

All About Isolation Feet! (Warning: This may make you dumber)

This bit of snake oil is so ridiculous that I have to share. I especially love the part where he discusses finding the right isolation feet for your particular component, shelf, flooring, etc. Remember, choosing the wrong feet can make your system sound worse. I can't make this shit up. Enjoy.
