The tech guys who do the weekly Waveform Podcast (Marquez Brownlee's crew) all flew to Spain to see the recent total eclipse, and they video'd it in real time with ground shots, filtered shots with a 500mm, and a shot taken from a drone that showed the "totality shadow" racing across the valley...

I bought the first two albums from the brilliantly-named "Stick Men" (two Chapman Stick players, and a drummer! ), this is the first time I've seen them on video. Turns out they have a boxed set coming out and are on tour (Tony Levin is 80, and just came off an anniversary tour for King Crimson).

EweTube just tickled a long-forgotten synapse! I danced my ass off to this record back in college, and it got me dancing again tonight (sorry about the visual). Flamenco Disco!

And I'll post this one here, just because and I saw it tonight. Leonid and Friends, the Russian/Ukranian cover band who loves Chicago as much as I do, performing their best song. The bass player and drummer, and "hot chick" (can't remember her name) are the only members I recognize anymore.

Tenor/flautist for Chicago, founding member. He hasn't been actively playing with them for awhile now, battling illness. Chicago started out as a rock band with horns, drifting into experimental/pop/jazz, then a pop/rock juggernaut, then a more easy-listening band with a durable power-ballad...

Was scrolling thru my video feeds and I saw one thumbnail pop out as a HDR, and my eyes popped when I saw it was Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass?!?!? I was a big fan in... high school, and I'm 66 now. Herb is Ninety-One Years Old, and he's on tour, and his chops are on the top their game...

Had this in the car this past week, a Sting album I didn't realize existed. He recorded it on his own during the pandemic, collaborating remotely with guys like Dominic Miller, Branford Marsalis, Manu Katché, Jo Lawry, and Martin Kierszenbaum. Very good so far.

I haven't really watched SNL since college, but this was recommended to me. I had to watch it twice, there's a lot going on and some killer lyrics!
