2.39:1 or 1.85.1 Aspect ratio how does this compare to IMAX

Has anybody seen a moive at a theatre that uses one of these wide aspect ratio's and if so how does it compare to your regular IMAX type screen? We used to have some Cinescope wide aspect ratio screens around my area, but so long ago I can't even remember how it looks compared to todays screen.

I know Chris thinks the the original IMAX wide screens do not look the best for a lot movies, but that is kind of a different animal as the screen is really curved.
