8 Classic albums, terribly recorded

I guess I must be extremely out of touch!! I only recognized 2 of the artists in that list of "Classic" albums?! :oops:
 
I only recognized 4, myself. Doing better than you I guess. Stooges, guided by voices, Springsteen... And the only reason I am familiar with Elliot smith is because he had a few songs on the thumbsucker movie soundtrack, and I remember reading that his life was a tragic story. Wasn't familiar with the album, though.

I would argue that Oasis' "What's the story morning glory" could also be on that list. Though just how much of a classic it is is debatable. They even made a SACD version and it still sounds bad to me. Maybe not 4-track portastudio bad, but bad considering all the money they had to work with.
