Rita MacNeil passed away yesterday.
Years ago I had the pleasure of seeing her in concert, and meeting her at her home / tea house. She was the nicest, sweetest person I have ever met - and possessed an absolutely incredible voice.
I cannot listen to her most-famous song Working Man without getting goosebumps. Yesterday, while driving through the countryside on my way home from a day-long road trip, I learned of her death while listening to the radio. They played Working Man. I had to pull over to dry my eyes before I could continue. Such is the loss.
