Captain America/Thor question

I had a chance to see Thor this weekend, and I saw Captain America a few weeks back and have a question. Are the Hydra super weapon and the Frost Giants power source the same thing? If so, how did it come into Hydra's possession? I don't recall it being discussed in either movie, but I could have missed it.

There is a connection but if you haven't seen the Avengers I don't want to spoil it for you.

No I haven't seen it, and thanks for not spoiling it, although while I like the Super Hero movies, I'm just not into the whole universe thing. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

I have no love or hate for Thor, and the movie was about what I expected, decent, but at least to me, doesn't stand out as one of the better hero movies. Seemed predictable, and he went from egotistical to nice guy a little to quickly in my book. Looking forward to seeing the Avengers though.
