Mine is out for repair with an old wizard. I have the field service manual and the diagnostic guide for the asking.

You only have to do 18 minutes here to see the elegant engineering behind Carver amps:

And my LA-25 has developed a little glitch in the right channel. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lafayette-LA-25-Stereo-Amplifier-Works-Good-Phono-Amp-Made-in-Japan/162597799481?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=1&asc=41451&meid=5c1f5f5080c24a568bbc55edfaa2940a&pid=100011&rk=1&rkt=8&sd=131582596912&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850

It's a real clean amp.

I have a history, and ongoing relationship, with Bob Carver products.

In my main HT I use five (5) Carver A-400x stereo amplifiers (200 W/ch into 8 ohms) to power my Koss stacks, and one (1) Phase Linear Model 300 Series II stereo amplifier (120 W/ch into 8 ohms) for the rear surrounds.

They work just as a good amp should: never notice they're there.

My stereo keyboard rig ran off a PM-200, appreciated the light weight when hauling gear.

Got this from my wizard today:
Got the kit in the mail this morning, exactly as advertised. Brand name first quality components, same as I normally buy. Printed board very professionally done. I completed removal of the old parts and relocated some others to make room for the capacitor board, following their very good instructions. About a dozen pages, in color. Clear and concise. Monday I'll start on the assembly and installation. Smoke test maybe Tuesday.

This is more technically challenging than first meets the eye. No problem here, but the average guy who has to run down to Radio Shack to buy a soldering iron is not going to achieve a satisfactory result with this kit.

He also does avionics repair. @JeffMackwood
