At a GTG some time in some place, there was a small discussion about Celine Dion: love her or hate her.
In response to some comments that pointed to the latter, I suggested that no opinion could be complete without considering her tremendous catalogue of French songs; that most people (almost all Anglophones) know her only by her English / Titanic songs.
I brought up the example of one song of hers about which I knew nothing, and had only heard a brief clip, but which had blown me away with her vocals, and in particular a recurring "trill" that she sings within the song. (I may be using the term "trill" incorrectly. I invite those more musically-inclined Members to correct me if I'm wrong.) The problem was that I could not, for the life of me, find a copy of that song - let alone its title. So I searched, and searched, and ...
Finally I found it. It's called "Je danse dans ma tete" (I dance in my head) and is on her 1991 release Dion Chante Plamondon. (Luc Plamondon is a Quebec composer. That song was apparently a new one for the album.)
I've also found the music video for the song.
Love her or hate her, one cannot help but be impressed with her vocal gymnastics on this one.
Enjoy!
