Cinemark XD vs IMAX

Looks like Cinemark is trying to cut the middleman, according to this article. We have Real 3D at my local Cinemark but no XD, nearest IMAX is about an hour away. :angry-cussingblack: I would like to see where our gurus who have worked in the industry come down issue?
