Coeur de Pirate (stage name of Beatrice Martin) is an amazing young Quebec chanteuse. Full bio info in wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cœur_de_pirate. I won't repeat it here.
I've been following her music for a couple of years and I think I've got copies of everything released that she's appeared on (her own albums, hers in collaboration, and those where she contributes vocals on a track or two.) Her first two albums are in French - but can be enjoyed by all. Her collaboration (group name "Armistice") is an English EP. Her third album "Trauma" contains English songs she did for a TV series.
The combination of her terrific voice, her personality and her looks makes her truly mignone - beyond cute.
I had the pleasure of seeing her live in concert at Ottawa's FolkFest today. I was pretty much front and centre. I've attached a few pics that I shot with my little Olympus Tough.
She's apparently got a new album coming in 2015, which will be in both French and English - at least judging by the tracks she played for us today. I really encourage music lovers to check her stuff out.
