DIY Speakers and plate amplifier.

Last night I was browsing on Parts Express and found this class D plate amp

https://www.parts-express.com/minidsp-pwr-ice125-2-x-125-watt-dsp-icepower-plate-amplifier--230-328

It has a RJ45 connector to link with a computer to customize the 2 channels and parametric EQ. Looks nice for a custom 2 channel speaker. The AES50 link digital audio is nice for my digital mixer for the band and would possibly be a big help on the custom built monitors. Audio link from the monitors would be digital to the mixer, and a power cable.

I also am contemplating the possible upgrade to the little EV in my pictures.

I had an old sub box that I had in my T Bird with a 10" Orion XTR driver in it. Had no more use for it so I cut a hole in the back of the box, installed a 125 w plate amp from PE and VOILA I have a sub in my garage. It fills things in nicely and you can even hear a difference outside around the pool when it is on.

These unusual little DIY projects are fun for sure, especially when they work.

One thing I have noted is that they explained the use of REW to measure time delay between the 5.1
https://www.minidsp.com/applications
This would allow for me to spend and hour or three making my seat to speakers accurate in measured and time.

in real world I will go with a tape measure for now. Placing the seat in the center of the circle of speakers.
