Dr. Michael Uslan, can be considered by many, the father of the modern comic-book movie. Uslan and his partner Benjamin Melniker reinvigorated the genre (which really only had Superman films) with 1989's Batman after they acquired the character's movie rights when EVERYONE told them not to. He just received the world's first doctorate in comic books. Seriously...
