So the guy who directed the Blade Runner sequel is signed to direct the next attempt a Dune for the big screen. I see mentions of "series", which is absolutely necessary for that story which goes on forever. I remember the first awful movie that came out in 1984, actually took a date to it and hated it. But, the TV Series SciFi produced in the early 2000s with the gorgeous Saskia Reeves was incredible.

I will wait to get excited. I think I need to see if this guy pulled off Blade Runner properly. I consider Blade Runner the absolute best original Earth-based SciFi ever made.

Correction / addition made. You are forgiven for the oversight.

I liked the 1984 movie. Yeah, it departed pretty far from the book, but I loved some of the costumes, and the general air of mystery/oddity to it. Then there was the scifi channel miniseries, which was closer to the story, but very bland IMHO.
