Evil Dead re-make

Ok last week I watched the remake of The Thing and thought it was a decent retelling of the story, but not needed.

I wonder what to think of this? Sam Rami is involved, but no Bruce Campell.... hmmmm

I saw an interview with Bruce Campbell two days ago and he's all over this remake. He produced the movie, him and Sam Raimi approved the script and both had a hand in hiring the actors for the remake.

BTW Bruce stated that the remake was staying true to the original which was just a horror movie, the humor came out in part two and three but the original was plain and simple a horror movie.

This is gonna rock, took Raimi a long time (almost three years) to approve the final script which says a lot.

Im with Matt on this one, the original Evil Dead was "campy" because of budget constraints but it was a straight up horror film. There was no comedy involved, that aspect of the dead films started with part two.

New poster is up...... quite a claim if you ask me.

I'll get around to watching it but horror is not my thing, really. My daughter however is really looking forward to it.

Yeah I was a little surprised too, when the whole idea of the remake started Raimi wanted Sean William Scott to play Ash but then they moved in another direction which I think was going for all out horror instead of horror/comedy. Scott could have pulled off Ash in a heartbeat.

Saw the movie tonight and really liked it. If you're a horror fan I would recommend seeing it.
